Dragon Treaties
The exact reason that such things are called as they are is lost to the ravages of time. What is known is that the Warden, and sometimes his famed Captains, have gone into the shadow worlds that connect to the fringes of Arden and made alliances with the people there. In exchange for things like a single service or the occasional Ranger presence, or sometimes under the duress of an attack from the Rangers, treaties are made to bolster Arden's considerable resources. Sometimes this is trade, sometimes this the promise of aid, a working of magic, or fealty to the vast forest kingdom.
